I used to love tromping through the bush on the Whitesand River bank - your piece here has me pondering the spiritual formation that I might have experienced then. Still love walking but sometimes my hips hurt and my knees protest!
Gosh Steve this is gorgeous! I love to track all the changes of the seasons and differences in days in the woods behind our house. I agree that is an awakening exercise
Oh, my, Stephen...Just the thing for motivation and stepping out. I use the excuse that the road is so busy, which it is, to stop me. I will think of your words as a cadence to walk to and look for what is unfolding. This poem is now one of my favorites :) So many good phrases!
Simply gorgeous. I want to put this in the anthology. Due to my severe back problems right now, I cannot take these walks. But you bought me along, with your beautiful liturgical language. Thank you! I needed this walk today. I may set out with your words again later!
I love walking with you. I love the meadow flowers we pass after the creek. Thanks for putting our walks in writing.
With love.
Breathing in
peace...

Thank you, Ana Lisa.

Getting to that point for many of us. And yes, walking the Whitesand River was wonderful. Thanks, Sam.

Thank you for that, Sue. We are of kindred spirit.

May we walk the woods
faithful to Poplar’s loving,
to Earth’s mercy song.
Thank you, Marisol.
